ABOUT

Offered to students between grade 7 and grade 12 attending École Secondaire Publique Louis-Riel. This program’s goal is to create a balanced lifestyle for highschool students between school and training. These dancers will attend school in the morning to get in all of their necessary classes, they will then have transport from school to our studio. Students will be training in the afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 everyday, for a total of 10 training hours weekly. They will have technique classes in jazz, ballet, acro, tap, and stretch and strength. This program allows dancers to train in the afternoon and have the evenings at home, all while being a part of our competitive dance team.

**Take note that training hours may vary depending on school grade

Ballet gives the opportunity to the students to work on technique, gracefulness, flexibility and self esteem. Our ballet classes give students the chance to work with the syllabus of the british association of teachers of dancer (B.A.T.D.).

Hip hop classes give the opportunity to dancers to learn different movements as well as many different energetic choreographies.
Tap dancing gives the opportunity to our dancers to discover rhythm with the help of different music styles. Our tap classes give the opportunity to the student to work with the syllabus of the associated dance arts for professional teachers (A.D.A.P.T.).
Broadway is a style of dance that combines jazz and theatre that allows dancers to get outside the box with their performance. The music that is often used for this type of class is musical theater.
Acro dance combines tumbling, stands, contortion and other acrobatic skills to give the opportunity to students to work on strength and flexibility.
Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance styles and places emphasis on the expression of emotions based on the music and the choreography.
Contemporary classes are based on the experimentation of the dancers own bodies in movement with music and different spaces to create different unique choreographies.
