RECREATIONAL

ABOUT

Our recreational program permits students from 3 years old and up to learn the fundamentals of dance in diverse disciplines offered at EDL. Students will get the  chance to explore movement and create friendships in a positive and energetic environment. Dancers in this program will also have the opportunity to participate in our end of year Gala, where they will receive a quality costume and get to perform in a large theatre with professional grade staging.

Students dancing in the recreational program create unforgettable memories and
develop a love for dance!

Ballet gives the opportunity to the students to work on technique, gracefulness, flexibility and self esteem. Our ballet classes give students the chance to work with the syllabus of the british association of teachers of dancer (B.A.T.D.).

JAZZ/BROADWAY

Jazz is an energetic style of dance that allows students to work on different skills such as jumps, turns and flexibility. Our jazz classes give the opportunity to dancers to work with the syllabus of the associated dance arts for professional teachers (A.D.A.P.T.).

Hip hop classes give the opportunity to dancers to learn different movements as well as many different energetic choreographies.

Tap dancing gives the opportunity to our dancers to discover rhythm with the help of different music styles. Our tap classes give the opportunity to the student to work with the syllabus of the associated dance arts for professional teachers (A.D.A.P.T.).

Acro-dance combines jazz, tumbling, stands AND contortion AND allows the student to work on flexibility AND muscle strength.

CONTEMPORARY/LYRIC

The fundamentals of these courses are based on the experimentation of time, energy, space and the sensation of movement. The lyric IS a fusion of ballet and jazz and places the emphasis on expression of deep feelings based on music and choreography.
